TO PROSPECTIVE NEW MEMBERS OF GORDON HEAD LAWN BOWLING CLUB
At GHLBC our general approach to the game is:
Annual membership is open to everyone and is relatively inexpensive. Members play as often as they please with no additional daily expense. The Club is open (weather permitting) from early March to late September.
We are always looking for new members. As an introduction, we offer low-cost, no obligation lessons; for $15 you will be given a series of 6 lessons over a period of 3 weeks during the month of April. Check the Calendar for the scheduled Open House and Introductory Lessons.
Our facility consists of one bowling green which contains eight bowling rinks. There is a modern club house with meeting space and kitchen facilities. Lockers for members are available and parking is adequate and free.
Scheduled club bowling during the weekend begins with tags up at 1:00 PM and drawing of teams at 1:15 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. There is a men’s game each Tuesday morning and women’s game on Thursday mornings; tags up at 9:00 AM and drawing of teams at 9:15 AM. Yardstick games are played on Tuesday evenings and Twilight games on Thursday evenings; tags up at 6:00 PM and drawing of teams at 6:15 PM. Additional scheduled games are established based on membership demand and members can access the facilities anytime via the key held at the Rec Center front desk.
New members wishing to pay their fees using Interac e-Transfer should use the online Membership Application Form which can be filled in and submitted from this website.
New members wishing to pay by cheque should download and print the Paper Application Form. This form should be submitted, together with a cheque, in an envelope addressed to Membership Chair, left in the office at the clubhouse, or submitted directly to the Membership Chair, currently Gail Ruttan.
